Choosing A Birthday Room For The Celebrant: A Map By Age And Temperament

Most people choose a birthday room on two numbers: how many guests and how much per hour. That is not wrong, but it leaves out the variable that most affects how the evening feels — whether the room's design suits the person it is for.

Two rooms of the same 45 m², the same rate, the same number of microphones. One runs flashing neon, the other is calm with steady light. Same guests, same menu, two completely different evenings.

This article sorts Avatar's rooms by four age groups and by temperament, so you can choose by asking "what sort of person is the celebrant" rather than "which room is cheaper".

Group 1 — Under 30: effects, and room to get up

At this age the evening leans towards singing and photographs rather than sitting and talking. The room wants strong visual effects and clear floor in the middle.

RoomCapacityFloor areaRoom rateWhy it suits
CyberPunk12 guests45 m²400,000đ/hourPurple-blue neon, future-city — the best photographic backdrop in the system for a young group
Astronaut15 guests50 m²450,000đ/hourSpace-travel effects, quick tempo, one size up from the 12-guest rooms
Orbit20 guests55 m²500,000đ/hourContinuously shifting light bands — for a larger group wanting an element of surprise

A note on the offer: this is the one group for whom the age-based programme is not the best choice. Under 30, the 30% off the room rate from 12pm to 10pm, Sunday to Thursday, gives more. The two do not stack, so choose one.

Group 2 — 30 to 45: room to break into conversation groups

This age has the most complicated guest list: close friends, colleagues, sometimes business contacts and relatives too. What the room has to provide is not effects but floor area for two or three conversation clusters to form naturally.

RoomCapacityFloor areaRoom rateWhy it suits
Sky Cave12 guests45 m²400,000đ/hourAn LED vaulted ceiling, enclosed yet open — for a small, close group
Celestial20 guests55 m²500,000đ/hourBlue-violet LED, elegant and roomy — the most popular choice for birthdays from 30 to 45
Aurora (0A1)20 guests60 m²650,000đ/hourThe largest in this group and on the ground floor — useful when a guest finds walking difficult

From 30 up, the birthday offer begins to beat the time-slot one. At exactly 30 the two are equal; above 30 the birthday offer always wins, and by more with every year.

Group 3 — 45 to 60: somewhere to stand, and a screen

At this age the evening almost always has a formal element: someone stands to speak, a video is shown, a gift is presented in front of everyone. The room has to support all three.

RoomCapacityFloor areaRoom rateWhy it suits
Cinematic12 guests45 m²400,000đ/hourHigh contrast, deep dark tone — the best room for a memorial video with a small group
Luminary30 guests70 m²650,000đ/hourThe smallest room with a stage wide enough to speak from and present awards
Infinity35 guests80 m²750,000đ/hourAn endless-loop effect — suited to evenings marking a milestone
MINIBAR50 guests110 m²850,000đ/hourThe largest single room, LED across all four walls, with a catwalk — event scale

Group 4 — Over 60: warm, quiet and easy to move around

This is the group where choosing the wrong room shows most clearly. Fast-moving light tires older eyes, a high background volume means they cannot hear the toasts, and narrow aisles turn the whole evening into hard work.

RoomCapacityFloor areaRoom rateWhy it suits
Eva12 guests40 m²350,000đ/hourWarm gold — the best room for a milestone celebration or a small family party
China Myth10 guests50 m²450,000đ/hourEast Asian motifs, roomy for the head count — but on the fifth floor, so a group with grandparents should take a low-floor room
Nebula35 guests80 m²750,000đ/hourSoftly shifting LED, large yet warm — a milestone celebration for a big family

Choose by temperament, not only by age

Age is a good indicator but not an absolute one. A technology-loving 55-year-old may prefer CyberPunk to Elite. The table below is the second filter.

Something worth knowing about the offer when choosing

Because the birthday discount is a percentage of the room rate, a room with a higher rate gives a proportionally larger reduction. For a celebrant of 60 booking four hours:

RoomRoom rate × 460% off
Eva · 350,000đ/hour1,400,000đ840,000đ
Celestial · 500,000đ/hour2,000,000đ1,200,000đ
Nebula · 750,000đ/hour3,000,000đ1,800,000đ
MINIBAR · 850,000đ/hour3,400,000đ2,040,000đ

That does not mean booking a dearer room to get a bigger discount — you still pay more. But it does mean that when you are torn between two classes and leaning towards the larger, the real gap is smaller than the price list suggests. The discount applies to the room rate only, does not stack with the 30% offer for 12pm to 10pm Sunday to Thursday, and is applied before the 5% service charge and 10% VAT. The detail is in how the birthday age discount is calculated.

A checklist for the phone call

  • Describe the celebrant first, ask the price second
  • Ask for floor area in square metres, not only capacity
  • Ask whether it is a single room or two combined
  • Ask whether the brightness can be adjusted and the moving effects turned off
  • Ask whether video can be played from a USB stick or a phone
  • State the celebrant's age so the room discount is applied
  • Ask for written confirmation with the room name clearly stated
